Dr. Guy Sayles, Interim Pastor    

Dr. Sayles, former pastor of First Baptist Church, Asheville will be serving as Interim Pastor beginning on April 9th, 2017.  He is currently a Religion faculty member at Mars Hill University and works with doctoral students at Gardner-Webb Divinity School.

 

 

Jim BurnetteJim Burnett, Worship and Music

Jim Burnett has been in music ministry for over thirty years. A graduate of Mars Hill University, he has served churches throughout Western North Carolina. Jim's passion is helping people discover God in worship. He is married to Barbara and enjoys reading, basketball, and fishing.

 

 

UseVicki Sorenson, Office Manager

A native of Alabama, Vicki once sang with Disney and was a member of Re-Generation, a contemporary gospel group. She has served churches in Florida and now North Carolina for fifteen years. Her passion is praise and worship. Vicki is married to Andy, a trumpet player with Land of the Sky Symphonic Band.

 

 

Charlene SheltonCharlene Shelton, CEC Director

Charlene has served as the Child Enrichment Center Director since 2004. A graduate of Asheville-Buncombe Technical College with a degree in Early Childhood Development, her philosophy is to choose well, make tough choices based on who you are and your relationships and remember that God will empower you in every situation.

 

 

Aaron DeWeese, CustodianAaron DeWeese

A native of Asheville, Aaron enjoys serving at Calvary because of the wonderful people he interacts with on a daily basis. One of his passions is apologetics and you can often find Aaron roaming the halls listening to various sermons on his ipod or discussing the latest book he has read. Currently he is learning chess and hopes to develop his skills further.

Susan recently celebrated her thirty-fifth anniversary as Calvary's organist. An accomplished musician, she holds a double Master degree in Organ Performance and Church Music from the Indiana School of Music. Susan enjoys being a mother to Kim and Chris, along with teaching an array of students in piano.

 

 

Sam HockIMG_0664ing, Building Host

Sam has served as our building host for ten years. Prior to joining Calvary, he worked for the United States Department of Commerce. He is passionate about learning and sharing the word of God. Sam loves music and frequently uses his gift as a vocalist and as an instrumentalist. In his spare time he enjoys working on various hands-on projects.
